Personalized tutoring for all subjects and grade levels. I work with students and parents to devise an achievement plan that includes areas of focus for tutoring, short and long term academic goals, and any other concerns that need to be addressed, such as busy schedules, learning differences, or simply a lack of confidence in a certain subject. Tutoring sessions will look different for each student, but can involve homework help, reviewing or expanding upon concepts learned in school, preparing for exams, writing and editing essays or other assignments, and receiving instruction beyond what is taught in school, especially for younger students looking to improve their math or reading abilities. Additional study materials will be provided to students as needed with no extra charge.

Comprehensive instruction for students looking to take the SAT, PSAT, ACT, ISEE, or TOEFL. Tutoring involves multiple rounds of practice tests to identify and address strengths and weaknesses, creating a plan to ensure all concepts are covered before test day, and utilizing study materials and strategies to help students master all portions of a test. We aim not just for mastery of the subjects being tested, but for an understanding of the logic of standardized tests themselves, bridging the gap between obtaining knowledge and demonstrating it on a test. Digital testing materials will be provided to students free of charge.

Comprehensive counseling services for all aspects of the college admissions process. I work with students and parents to create and execute a comprehensive admissions plan. We start by creating a list of potential schools and understanding their requirements, then move on to crafting personal statements and supplemental essays, compiling extracurricular activities and references, and gathering letters of recommendation and other required materials. Finally, we work together to fill out each school’s application and submit in a timely fashion. I guide students (and their parents!) through the entire process to ensure that each student has the best possible chance of attending their dream school.
